Ice Prince Biography

Panshak ‘Ice Prince’ Henry Zamani was born on the 30^th of October, 1986 in Minna, Niger State to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Nasara Zamani. Two years after he was born, the family had to relocate to Jos, Plateau State where he had his elementary and High School education. He was admitted into the University of Jos to study Zoology but had to drop out due to financial constraints.His love for music started way back in 1998 when he was still a student in high school. Young Panshak would compose series of rap songs which he performed at the school’s social events to the cheer of other students. Eventually, he decided to join a singing group “The Ecomog Squad” in 2002 but it didn’t go too well as the group was dissolved in 2003.

Ice Prince didn’t give up though, he went on to join another singing group known as “The Loopy Crew” along with a couple of other artists like brothers Jesse Jags and M.I, Eve, Ruby and Taz.

Ice Prince’s musical success however didn’t begin until 2004 when he released his debut single “Extraordinary” The single received a lot of airplay in Abuja and Lagos and even made it to the top of several music charts. He followed up with another hit single, “Rewind” which also recorded huge success.

His career received further boost when he signed a record deal with Chocolate City Entertainment, the record label under which he released several hit singles and two albums, Everybody Loves Ice Prince released in 2011 and Fire of Zamani released in 2013. He also released another album in 2015, Trash Can EP.

Ice Prince has been nominated for several local and international awards and has won a couple. Some of the awards he has won include Ben TV Awards for Best Male Hip Hop Artist, 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards for Best Rap Act of The Year, Nigeria Music Video Awards Best Hip Hop Video and Best Use of Visual Effects, Nigeria Entertainment Awards for Best Rap Act of the Year, BET Awards 2013 for Best Rap Act of the Year and Best Hip-Hop Artiste of the Year, Channel O Music Awards for Most Gifted Hip-Hop Video of the Year, Bet Awards for Best Rap Album, Ghana Music Awards for African Artist of the Year, Best Rap Single and Song of the Year, The Headies 2011 Most Gifted Newcomer Video, Dynamix All Youth Awards Best New Artiste, Nigeria Music Video Awards Hottest Single of the Year, City People Entertainment Awards Song of the Year, Eko FM/Radio Lagos Awards for Young Artiste of the Year ,Hennessy Artistry Club Tour Awards and a couple of others.

Ice Prince has also featured a few times on the television scene. He featured as Tony in House of Gold and also made a guest appearance in Season 3 of the web series “Shuga”.

Although not married, Ice Prince is a proud father. In 2012, he fathered a baby girl, Toluwalashe, with Bimbo Babatunde. He is currently dating a French-Ghanaian beauty known as Maima.
