Aliko Dangote is the richest/wealthiest man in Africa. In Nigeria, he is greatly respected for his massive contribution to the economy of the country which earned him the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), the second title of the land. He is also seen as a mentor to many upcoming entrepreneurs. He is among the list of Nigeria's famous billionaire.

Born on the 10^th of April,1957, in Kano state with a silver spoon, Aliko Dangote had always had passion for business and entrepreneurship. At a young age, he sold items to his classmates and earned profits in return.

He graduated from Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt with a degree in Business.  At age 21, his uncle who was a wealthy business man loaned him a sum of N500,000 to start-up a business. He ventured into petty trading and as time passed, he established the Dangote Group of companies which is currently the largest industrial conglomerate in West Africa.

His company is into importation of pasta, fish, rice, fertilizer and cement. Dangote also has investments in real estate, oil and gas, banking and transport.
