To check your mtn data usage: dial *559*2#

MTN allows you to roll over your unused data to the next month. For example, if you have 100MB of data left for this month, it will be added to your data for next month — provided that you allow automatic renewal. That is, you must have loaded the subscription amount before your current plan expires.

PS. Before subscribing to any of these plans, ensure that the 3G network is available in your area. (If your phone does display 3G or H beside the network signal indicator, this means the 3G network is available). Without 3G, you won’t enjoy high-speed browsing.

Stop Automatic Data Renewal On MTN, Etisalat, Airtel and Glo

Unknown     8:15 AM     Gadgets Review     No comments

We recently published posts on MTN, ETISALAT, GLO and AIRTEL data plans, subscription codes and prices however we have come to notice that the telecom networks have a feature for data subscription called auto renewal and this auto renews your data immediately it gets to the expiry date and also deducts your airtime for that value of data bundle.

all-network-telecommunicationThe average smart phone user or internet surfer would prefer to purchase these data plans at their convenience and time so most users do not like the auto renewal feature even though it may come with some benefits like having some extra days before your next subscription expires or extra data if you enable the auto renewal.

48 hours or 24 hours before your data subscription expires, you should get a text message informing you of the cutoff date and that the subscription will be auto renewed. It also comes with the code to disable the auto renewal however most users do not get this message or accidentally delete the message.

To stop the auto renewal feature find the codes below for your network.

To Stop Auto Renewal On MTN
Send an sms with the word  “NO” to 131

To Stop Auto Renewal On ETISALAT
Send an sms with the word ”STOP” to 229

To Stop Auto Renewal On AIRTEL

Richest Musicians in Nigeria: The Top 10

Unknown     7:30 AM     Entertainment     No comments

So, you want to know the top 10 richest musicians in Nigeria? Read on.

Let’s face it, there’s no way to accurately determine the financial worth of any individual unless he or she discloses it. This explains why you won’t get an accurate account of how much Nigerian musicians are worth.

Though you’ll find various lists all over the internet that rank Nigerian musicians in terms of their riches, get it clearly that these lists are products of estimations based on various factors such as popularity, endorsement value, show rates, sales, awards, investment, influence, social media presence, YouTube views, and so on. And this explains why there’s no agreement between them.

Here, however, we will try to strike a balance. After having looked at a number of posts listing the richest musicians in Nigeria, we came up with the list below, which highlights the top 10 richest musicians in Nigeria—in no particular order:

P-Square

Comprising twin brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye, P-Square is believed by many to be the richest Nigerian musicians (there’s no strong evidence to support this, though). The duo charge between 8-15 million Naira per show, and they’re signed up as ambassadors for strong Nigerian brands such as Globacom.

P-Square signed recording deals with Akon’s Konvict Music in December 2011 and Universal Music in May 2012. The Square Villa in Ikeja, owned by P-Square is said to be worth $3 million (around N500 million).

D’ Banj

Dapo Daniel Oyebanji (D’Banj) was born on June 9, 1980. He started his music career with Mo’ Hits Records, the label under which he shot to fame in 2005, when he released his first album, No Long Thing. He broke up with his producer, Don Jazzy in 2012 in a development which saw the end of Mo’ Hits Records.

D’Banj charges between 6-8 million Naira per show, and is currently signed up with Globacom and other Nigerians brands in deals worth several millions of Naira.

TuFace Idibia

Innocent Ujah Idibia (popularly known as TuFace Idibia) is one of Nigeria’s most popular hip-hop sensations and is regarded by many as one of Nigeria’s best instrumentalists ever. It is reported that TuFace earns between 5-7 million Naira per show.

The father of seven seems to be finding his way into property business as he keeps acquiring assets, which run into millions of Naira from different parts of Lagos.

TuFace Idibia has recorded 10 million CD sales and at least seven million digital sales. He is associated with Guinness, Haven Homes, Airtel Worldwide and is a philanthropist.

Don Jazzy

Michael Collins Ajereh (Don Jazzy) was on November 26, 1982. He is a multi award-winning record producer, singer-songwriter, musician, and former chief executive officer of Nigerian record label Mo’ Hits Records, founded in 2004 and current CEO of the Mavin Records label, which he founded in May 2012 after his broke up with childhood friend and Mo’Hits partner, D’banj.

Don Jazzy is more of a music producer, and he’s earning his multi-millions from doing just that.

Wizkid

One of the hottest musicians in Nigeria right now, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (Wizkid) is controlling millions at a very young age (he was born on July 16, 1990). After rising to prominence in 2009 with his song “Holla at Your Boy,” Wizkid has grown in leaps and bounds with many hit songs and awards to his credit.

Wizkid, is the CEO of Starboy, an affiliation with Disturbing London, and has engaged in several international collaborations. He is the highest paid Pepsi ambassador in Africa and an ambassador of MTN. He earns between 4-6 million Naira per show.

Other artistes believed to be among the top 10 richest musicians in Nigeria include:

  • Davido

  • Banky-W

  • Ice Prince

  • Flavour

  • K1 De Ultimate

Caveat!

This list is based on rough estimations made from the factors earlier mentioned and should not be used or quoted as an authoritative source. As stated earlier, only the musicians themselves know how much they’re really worth.

Top 20 Richest Musicians in Nigeria (2016)

Unknown     6:59 AM     Entertainment     No comments

A few days ago, after the question about the top 20 richest musicians in Nigeria for 2016, a guy took twitter to express his church mind and he tweeted:richest-musicians-in-nigeria“Somebody would spend two years for pre-degree, four years for Bsc, two years for masters and someone would just sing ‘Skibo robo skibo oshey baddest’ and start making mad money.”

The statement isn’t far from the truth, as the money circulating in the Nigerian music industry is a very enviable sum. Asides the showbiz-life, the hired things for the music videos and the exposed overrated things, and all, musicians have pretty comfortable lives. And for the smart ones, the music career is just a form of leverage to acquire investments and set things up for alternative sources of income.

We cannot conclusively come to a list of the richest artistes in Nigeria but we can confidently say that this list is pretty close. Endorsement deals are being signed on a daily basis, some artistes are being dropped by their brands, some acquire and/or lose properties, some never disclose how much they’re really worth, making it difficult for a correct list to be compiled. But if you want to have an idea of Nigeria’s top richest artistes, then here you have it

20. Patoranking

The “Girlie O” crooner, who hit song has over 6 million YouTube views has been making a name for himself since he came on the music scene. Trying, as much as possible to not to fall off the surface of the music industry, Patoranking has done a commendable job, staying in the limelight. Patoranking has a net worth reported to be around N400 million.

19. Yemi Alade

She just dropped her Mama Africa album and its selling pretty fast. Yemi Alade is not just a strong vocalist but one that knows exactly what the fans want; and does all what it takes to make sure that’s exactly what she delivers. The “King of Queens” has been predicted to overthrow Tiwa Savage as the richest and most popular Nigerian female vocalist. Her net worth is said to be around N560 million.

18. Chidinma Ekile

She’s small in stature but not in financial size. The song that brought her to limelight, “Kedike” has one of the highest views on YouTube. Although rumoured to be dating another of the richest musicians in Nigeria, she remains unperturbed as she rakes in her money and she’s currently worth N580 million.

17. Duncan Mighty

The Niger Delta man has always been in the habit of talking about his wealth, houses, cars, and so on. The singers most popular songs – “Obianuju” and “Porthacourt Boy” has combined views of over 3 million on YouTube. He has strong affiliation with Niger Delta politicians and he’s worth N700 million.

16. Ice Prince

No other Ice Prince’s song has reached Oleku’s 3.1 million views on YouTube. The rapper who’s signed to Chocolate City alongside his brothers-in-rap M.I and Jesse Jagz. Ice Prince who’s one of the flashiest musicians in Nigeria has done quite fantastically since he broke into limelight and doesn’t look he’s falling off anytime soon. He is worth N820 million.

15. Phyno

Phyno is one of the few rappers in Nigeria who inserts their native dialects in their songs. One of the most intriguing things about his song is the fact that you can relate to what he’s saying, even if you don’t understand. He’s an Airtel and NairaBet ambassador and he’s worth N870 million.

4. Innocent “2Face” Idibia

He’s not as innocent as his name indicates, with his baby-mama dramas but he has an extremely likeable personality in the Nigerian music industry. Everyone in the Nigerian music industry knows D’Banj as a goal getter and someone who hardly takes “no” for an answer. They are not only musicians; they are shrewd businessmen who don’t allow family sentiments get in the way of their money.  Unknown     10:05 AM     Biography     No comments

Biography of Rochas Okorocha

The man, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha (OON) was born on September 22, 1962 in Ogboko, Ideato South Local Government Area of Imo State. Coming from a humble beginning, he rose from grace to grace. Rochas Okorocha parents were poor. Hence, he began the struggle for survival with hawking of groceries in Barkin Ladi, Jos and rose to become a proprietor of a commercial school.

Rochas-Okorocha-biography

Rochas Okorocha Education

In 1976, Rochas Okorocha started his secondary education amidst a life of privation, by the 1990s, Rochas was fully into public service. But he did not put aside academic life, and so combined both activities. His academic strife was quite rewarding as he was today adorned with quite a number of academic laurels among which are LLL.B and LL.M from university of Jos. Advanced Diploma in Public Administration, Diploma in Law and conflict management and PGD in management.

By 1996, Rochas Okorocha founded the Rochas Foundation as a philanthropy organisation, and in 2001 Rochas Foundation gave birth to Rochas Foundation College, which today has campuses across the Federation. This wing of Rochas Foundation is poised with offering free education to indigent Nigerian students irrespective of tribe or creed. The establishment was propelled by his passion for salvaging the suffering Nigerian masses by rendering free education to many Nigerian students so as to live above the penury line.

As a passionate humanitarian, Rochas is the president of the Nigerian Red Cross Society which is now waxing stronger than when he met it. Yet unsatisfied with his input to humanitarian work through his work at the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Rochas took a dive into politics at both state and national levels, so as to touch the lives of a greater percentage of Nigerians. In 1999, he represented Ideato South and North Federal Constituency were he served as the Federal Commissioner representing Imo State in the Federal Character Commission, and also won the position of the chairman of the Youth wing of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the same year; 1999.

In the same year (1999), Rochas contested the gubernatorial election in Imo State but could emerge as the governor which he purportedly won but was denied the right to emerge due to the monster of god-fatherism prevalent in the Nigerian Politics. He further went on to contest for the ultimate position in Nigerian under the platform of All Nigerians Peoples Party (ANPP) in the presidential bid of 2003. Gaining the reputation as very stiff contenders for the 2003 presidential contestants, Rochas was later called upon and appointed the special adviser to the president on inter-party affairs.

As a naturally born revivalist, Rochas Founded a new political party known as Action Alliance, with the mission to ouster the old order and forge a new road map for a positive future: A Dream-Nigeria!

By 2007, Rochas Okorocha has built a strong political awareness for himself which instigated his move to run again for the presidential position in the 2007 general election under PDP. To prove his popularity, he came second in the PDP’s primary election after Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. Dissatisfied with the way things are done in PDP both at the state and national levels. Mostly dissatisfied with the way things are done in PDP, Imo State, Rochas decided to join All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the build-up to the 2011 general election. He was picked to gun for the gubernatorial contest by APGA for Imo State governorship position. And with a landslide victory over his competitors, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha emerged as the undisputed governor of Imo State and was sworn in on May 29, 2011.
